About Us

About Us

Since 1985, Assistance League® of Montgomery County, a nonprofit organization, has
been transforming lives through its seven community programs.

- Operation School Bell® is the largest program, providing new school clothes and
shoes each year for more than 4,000 Montgomery County students.

- The Assault Survivor Kits® program supports survivors of assault and trauma by
providing kits containing clothing, toiletries, and comfort items while they are in
hospital emergency rooms.

- The Scholarship program offers scholarships to graduating seniors, returning
college students, adults re-enrolling in college, and those pursuing career
certifications, as well as supporting agencies that serve individuals with special
needs.

- The Tender Loving Care Dolls Program supplies handmade, soft-fabric comfort
dolls to school counselors and agencies.

- The Fans for Friends Program helps Montgomery County residents stay cool in
summer and warm in winter by providing box fans and blankets to those in need.

- The Community Partner Outreach program supports more than 35 partnering
nonprofits, providing basic needs and encouraging hope for clients striving to
break free from poverty.

- The Pass It On program donates unsold or excess items from the Assistance
League Thrift Shop to partner nonprofits for their clients.

Located at 126 N. San Jacinto St. in downtown Conroe, the Assistance League Thrift
Shop provides approximately 80% of the funding for these community programs. The
shop is entirely run by member volunteers and features a high-quality selection of
clothing, housewares, jewelry, shoes, home décor, seasonal items, linens, toys, books,
furniture, and more.

Business hours for shopping and donation drop-off are Tuesday through Saturday from
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monetary donations can be made by check, cash, or through “Donate
Now” on the website.
