Give your child a strong foundation in the principles of storytelling and stop-motion with this three-day Animation Camp! For ages 6 - 13
NOTE: An iPad is required for this program, if you do not own one, a rental option will be available upon purchase.
Day 1: Claymation
Students will learn what it takes to create an animated film. Every camper will come up with their own individual idea that they will plan by storyboarding, making sets, and sculpting characters.
After the ideation stage, students will make it all come alive by taking hundreds of photos that they will then edit In post-production with sound effects, music, overlays and more.
Day 2: Lego Stop Motion + Green Screen
Day 2 is all about taking Lego mini-figures on wild adventures! Students will create their own Lego sets and experiment with green screens for the first time, allowing them to put any background they wish in their films.
New animation concepts will be introduced including special effects, giving the characters voices, and making title and end screens.
Day 3: Practical Stop Motion Effects
Day 3 starts off with students creating real-life stop motion movies, learning fun techniques to make it look like they are flying, teleporting, sliding and more.
The Creator Camp Oscars
Students will then choose their favorite animation from the past few days to be presented at the Creator Camp Oscars! They will create their own movie trailer and poster. And when the red carpet rolls out, everyone will come together to view each other's masterpieces.
Students will also receive an Oscar award in their own animation category and an a letter written by their instructors to thank them for their hard work and encourage them to continue their creative journey!
