Apply for High School Football Reporters - The Woodlands, Conroe & Willis

Become a part of the Woodlands Online® Sports 2025-26 high school football digital media team! We’re looking for enthusiastic sports journalist interns to deliver comprehensive, engaging coverage of District 13-6A high school football games. This year we will again be live streaming at Willis ISD Yates Stadium, covering the Tigers and Panthers at Moorhead, and covering the Highlander, Cavalier, War Eagle and Grizzly games at The Bank. And another year of live streaming youth football games on Saturdays too! For the Community, By the Community™. As a member of our team, you’ll immerse yourself in the excitement of football games, crafting compelling stories that bring the action to our community. 

Responsibilities include:

- Writing in-depth game previews and recaps that capture the intensity and drama of high school sports.
- Conducting insightful post-game interviews with coaches and key figures to provide unique perspectives.
- Producing photo and video recaps to complement written content and enhance storytelling.
- Researching, observing, and writing community-focused sports stories that highlight local athletes and events.
- Creating game recap stories.
- Posting live game updates and content on social media to engage audiences in real time.
- Delivering polished content immediately after games to meet distribution deadlines.
- Traveling to away games to cover the action (preferred but not required).
- Maintaining flexibility in work schedule and workload to adapt to the dynamic nature of sports journalism.
- Working with the latest digital journalism technologies to produce cutting-edge sports content.

- Strong passion for sports journalism.
- Communication skills.
- Experience in recapping football games (preferred but not required).
- Analytical eye for observing and capturing key moments in sporting events.
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines to process and deliver content.
- Enthusiasm for learning and adapting to cutting-edge digital media technologies.
