Nurse - Children of The Woodlands
Summary: Support mission statement, guiding principles and school philosophy. This position is responsible for providing the best possible care for our children.
Essential Functions: The Nurse must be able to meet all state licensing requirements as well as accreditation criteria. This includes:
Relational Leadership
- Support mission statement, guiding principles and school philosophy
Strategic/Operational Leadership
- Support mission statement, guiding principles and school philosophy
- Provide care for students with acute illnesses and injuries
- Cares for students with chronic illnesses and coordinates with the teachers
- Provide care for students with acute illnesses and injuries
- Assist in managing communicable diseases and assessing the school environment to prevent injury and ensure safety
- Overseeing infection control measures
- Actively participating in school safety plans that address school violence, bullying, and emergencies that may occur at school
- Overseeing medication administration and health care procedures
- Making decisions related to the delegation of healthcare tasks as directed by state laws and professional practice guidance
- Assists in maintaining first aid kits for each classroom
- First responder for life threatening emergencies
- Train and assist in supervision of the Nurse substitutes
- Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and current Texas Registered Nursing License
- Minimum of two years of experience in Pediatric Health Care
- Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification
- Must have a heart for working with children
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn new programs quickly
- Ability to work well in a team, as well as work independently
- Must be a committed Christian comfortable sharing their faith with children and families
- Must meet licensing requirements, which includes fingerprinting and an extensive background check
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

- Reports to: Children of The Woodlands, Director
- Position Type: Part time
- Schedule: Monday – Thursday 8:15am – 2:15pm during the school year with potential limited summer hours
- Compensation: Dependent on experience
- Benefits: Not benefit eligible
