About the Position

BOX IT is looking for a dependable, friendly, and detail-oriented Bilingual Retail Shipping Associate to join our team.

Candidates must be able to communicate confidently in both English and Spanish.

This is a hands-on customer service position in a fast-paced retail shipping environment. Our associates help customers package and ship everything from everyday boxes to valuable, fragile, oversized, and unusual items.

We work with multiple shipping carriers and specialize in custom packaging and professional packing services, including the packing and shipping of artwork and fragile items.

The right person does not need to already be a shipping expert. We are looking for someone who communicates well with customers, learns quickly, pays attention to details, and takes pride in doing things correctly.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service in both English and Spanish

Communicate clearly with customers about shipping options, pricing, packaging, and delivery expectations

Help customers determine the best shipping option based on cost, delivery time, item type, and destination

Process shipments through multiple carriers and shipping systems

Accurately enter customer, address, package, and shipment information

Weigh and measure packages

Pack customer items safely and professionally

Select appropriate boxes, cushioning, and packaging materials

Assist with custom packaging for fragile, oversized, valuable, or unusually shaped items

Assist with packing and shipping artwork and other delicate items

Print shipping labels, receipts, and related documentation

Receive and process prepaid/drop-off packages

Operate point-of-sale and payment systems

Answer customer questions in person and by phone

Maintain an organized, clean, and professional retail environment

Stock boxes, packing materials, and store supplies

Receive and organize incoming inventory

Assist with mailbox, printing, business, and other store services as trained

Follow store procedures for package handling, security, accuracy, and customer privacy

Work as part of a small team and help wherever needed during busy periods

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bilingual in English and Spanish

Able to comfortably speak with and assist customers in both languages

Strong customer service and communication skills

Friendly and professional attitude

Excellent attention to detail

Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly

Comfortable using point-of-sale systems, printers, scanners, and shipping software

Basic math and measurement skills

Ability to accurately enter names, addresses, dimensions, and other shipment information

Good problem-solving skills

Ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy

Ability to multitask in a retail environment

Dependable and punctual

Organized and able to maintain a clean workspace

Comfortable working independently after training

Willingness to learn shipping carriers, packaging methods, and store services

Ability to safely lift and move packages throughout the workday

Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following is helpful but not required:

Retail customer service

Shipping or logistics

UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL, or similar shipping services

Packing and packaging

Mailbox or postal retail stores

Warehouse or fulfillment operations

Printing or business service centers

Point-of-sale systems

Physical Requirements

This is an active retail position. Employees should be comfortable:

Standing and walking for extended periods

Bending, reaching, and working around packages and packing stations

Regularly lifting and carrying packages

Handling boxes and packages of different sizes and weights

Lifting up to [50 lbs] independently
