Nine of the 14 community pools in The Woodlands Township will open at noon Saturday, May 7, 2016. Season pool passes are now on sale for a head start on summer fun.

Record rainfall this spring and recent flooding will lead to increased standing water and a likely excess of mosquito breeding sites across our region, increasing the risk for mosquito borne disease, including West Nile Virus and the Zika Virus.

On April 9, 2016, The Woodlands Township Environmental Services Department hosted its annual GreenUp event to join the statewide effort to keep Texas beautiful in the Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-Off.

Arbor Day was celebrated in the Jones State Forest April 2, with hundreds of families participating in a day of activities including an official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Texas Wildlife & Woodland EXPO.
