Online Banking and Bill Paying Now Offered

Keeping in step with the latest tools in banking technology, Woodforest National Bank officially launched its new online banking and bill paying services web site as of March 8th.

According to Allison Carpentier, Product Manager for Woodforest National Bank, the bank's free, web-based program allows customers to pay bills, transfer funds, view account balances and current activity, view statements, and set up e-mail notifications for balances, transactions, and unposted items.

"Further adding to the convenience factor, we offer the same online banking services through several of the most popular finance management packages, Money 2000, Quicken 2000, and QuickBooks 2000, so customers can bank, budget and manage their money from any of these applications at any time," explains Jim Duke, Vice President of Technology Services. "We are excited about the positive response we've received from customers since the launch. As more people are turning to online banking to save time and costs involved with hand-mailing bill payments, we are delighted to provide such service free of charge to our customers."

The bank's new online banking and bill paying service follows several other online offerings from the bank since the beginning of the year, which include the addition of QuickBooks 2000, Quicken(r) TurboTax(r) for the WebSM and Quicken Tax Freedom Project. Woodforest National Bank was the first financial institution to provide online banking connectivity for QuickBooks(r), the leading small business management solution, using the Open Financial Exchange (OFX) specification.

The Quicken Tax Freedom Project is a public service initiative that makes online tax preparation and electronic filing available at no charge to taxpayers with an annual adjusted gross income of $20,000 or less, as well as anyone filing a Form 1040EZ. Quicken(r) TurboTax(r) for the WebSM allows easy and quick access to Intuit's online version of its popular Quicken TurboTax personal tax preparation software program. Each of the on-line programs is available to customers through the bank's website at www.woodforest.com.

Celebrating 20 years of banking, Woodforest National Bank's business philosophy states that true, unsurpassed quality in customer service with responsive products and maximum use of technology are keys to success.

Ranked among the top earning banks in the U.S., Woodforest National Bank is one of the largest employee-owned community banks with approximately $700 million in assets.

Woodforest National Bank has 31 locations positioned throughout Harris, Galveston, and Montgomery Counties, including 9 in-store retail branches with extended hours of service.
