Houston, TX –— For the second straight week, pump prices in Texas and the U.S. moved higher, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch. The Texas average rose by three cents to $2.710 a gallon.

“Oil industry analysts say the impact of high oil prices has begun to show up at our nation’s gas pumps,” said AAA Texas spokeswoman Rose Rougeau. “With crude oil prices topping $90 a barrel, motorists can expect this trend to continue for some time.”

The Houston area has the state’s cheapest gas at $2.62 – despite a weekly increase of four cents. Amarillo has the state’s highest average price at $2.84 a gallon – up four cents.
