The Friendship Center to Host Annual Senior Prom

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- Montgomery County’s very own “Dancing With the Stars” will debut on Tuesday, August 12, when our senior adults enjoy an evening of dancing at The Friendship Center’s sixth annual Senior Prom.

This year’s theme is “Dancing With the Stars” with music provided by Nite Sessions, from 7 – 10 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with a dance contest beginning at 6:15 p.m. Couples will perform a dance of their choice with guest judges from the Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Our version of a mirror ball trophy will be presented to the winners. In addition to judging the dance contest, the dancers from Arthur Murray Dance Studio will also entertain everyone with an exhibition of ballroom dancing. Also, a Senior Prom King and Queen will be crowned from contestants who were recently crowned at their centers.

Tickets are $5 each and are on sale now at all five of The Friendship Center locations. Transportation from the outlying communities in the county will be available with pre-registration. Prom pictures will be taken by photographers for $5 each. Light refreshments will be served as well.

Suggested attire is “your Sunday best” but in years past it is not unusual to see formals. The Senior Prom is a magical evening for everyone and is an event eagerly anticipated.
