SPRING, Texas -- Beauty trends may come and go, but for centuries women have been obsessed with their eyelashes. Mascara, mechanical curlers, strip lashes and eyeliner are just a few popular products that many women can’t seem to live without. Though they may lengthen your lashes, they do the same to your makeup routine. Xtreme Lashes semi-permanent eyelash extensions were designed with just that in mind. President and Founder, Jo Mousselli, RN, was surrounded by busy career women during her tenure as a Pediatric ICU Nurse at Texas Children’s Hospital.

Mousselli, a single mom of four, searched for an innovative cosmetic product to cut her "getting ready" time in half. She came across eyelash extensions, an idea which originated in Asia some thirty years ago. But the trend never really took off since at the time there were no safety standards, proper tools or even a standardized application. After months of research and with the help of her family, Mousselli founded Xtreme Lashes, a company derived from an RN’s medical attention to safety and hygiene.

Mousselli explains the non-invasive, relaxing procedure "creates a younger appearance instantaneously, enhancing what is already there". As we age, our eyelashes become shorter, thinner and sparse. Xtreme Lashes are darker and curlier than human lashes, eliminating the need need for mascara or painful curlers. Mousselli summarizes “the added benefit of Xtreme Lashes is that you look beautiful morning, noon and night, all day, every day”.

And what started as a small family business out of her home just three years ago, is now a global phenomenon. Though most major cosmetic companies are stationed in New York or California, Xtreme Lashes is headquarted in Spring, just 7 miles south of The Woodlands. Though she understands this in an oil city, Mousselli says there's no reason to relocate.

"We've become quite successful here. Plus we've created jobs for local people interested in the beauty and fashion industry." Xtreme Lashes has managed to grow into a full time operation with over 40 employees.

With a standardized curriculum, troubleshooting team and business support, the company is the number one choice for stylists looking to introduce this service into their salons and spas. The Xtreme name has become synonymous with flawless lashes. Hollywood can't seem to get enough of the flirty fringe. With countless invitations to participate in celebrity gifting suites including the Cannes Film Festival, The Golden Globes and Emmy Awards, seems as though Xtreme Lashes won't be gone in the blink of an eye.
