THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Hello and" A Very Happy New Year" to everyone at and clicking on to "Woodlands Online," it was my pleasure a couple of years ago to write a regular column for Woodlands Online. Things got really busy and I had to take a break, but here I am "back" and it's  great  to join you all once a again.

How is the new year treating you so far? Did it get off to a slow or quick start? Have the good intentions and resolutions fizzled away with the celebration champagne bubbles? If so, don't worry. For sure, you are not alone this time of the year. Mid January can seem a little flat. But, the sunshine and indeed spring, is around the corner and this year really is filled with new energy and can really truly be your "Best" year yet.

It is certainly a year to clean out your life and finally let go of what doesn't work. It's a year filled with opportunity to live life your way and be your authentic self despite the economy, which is improving personal problems and what at times seems a heap of responsibility which threatens to weigh down even the most cheerful amongst us. But take heart enjoy and use the following top ten tips to get the most out of this unique and inspiring year..

Top ten tips for 2010
1. Don't force yourself to do things and stay with them every single day. Instead, allow yourself to choose to do things every other day. Life otherwise seems to go so fast that with all the best intentions you will fail in your resolve simply because you can't make the time, but every other day is much more possible. Even go to every third day if that works for you. Remember, always congratulate yourself for what you "did do" and "forgive yourself" for what you didn't.

2. Be "Aware." Realize now, the most "negative" thought that you hold about yourself and turn it into a "positive" thought. Now take that new "positive" thought with you into 2010.

3. Depressed? Learn to live again by going back to basics. Make a list of eight small things that make you happy and bring you joy, even as simple as "laying in the sun" or "drinking hot tea in bed." Now, check how many times you done those things lately? Pin up the list and make sure you include those simple things often, each and every week, to reconnect with simple joy. It's like building up a positive emotional bank account.

4. Do not "buy into" negative news on the radio, TV or printed press. Look for positive news instead. It's out there, so make a point of looking and keep your world sunny and bright. It's a choice.

5. This year be brave make a point of coming out of your shell show people and yourself more of who you really are, one of the fastest way to connect with others and allow  life to be a lot more enjoyable and amazing.

6. No more resolutions, instead dream dreams. Make it a practice, imagination is far more real and important than you can imagine. Dream how you want life to be, then write it down. It's another step to making it become real.

7. Change your speed. Speed up or slow down. Do it differently this year to how you always did it before. This year is all about real change.

8. Face your fear, breathe through it deeply with your mouth wide open, one of the most important things to do this year to bring real happiness real change and real success.

9. Expect the unexpected. Don't dread it, welcome it and choose it to all be positive. Do this and positive exciting and amazing things will happen and come to you.

10. Make a wish list of places to go and things to do. Aim to do at least half of them this year. More than ever before, don't accept I can't; because yes you really "CAN."

Again all good wishes for a great 2010 and be back with more thoughts at the beginning of each month.
