Tax Preparation Assistance to Seniors

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- In order to make income tax preparation a little bit easier for seniors in our community, The Friendship Center is offering services to help seniors over age 60 access assistance with their IRS forms.

Help will be available in The Woodlands at the South Regional Library at 2101 Lake Robbins Dr. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Seniors in other areas of the community can access help at locations in Conroe, Magnolia, New Caney, and Willis, with transportation available through The Friendship Center. Volunteers will assist seniors each Monday at The Friendship Center’s Conroe location, 1202 Callahan Ave., beginning Monday, Feb. 15, through Apr. 15, from 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Those seeking assistance should bring all documents needed for this year’s return, as well as their copy of last year’s tax return.

Assistance is available on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lone Star College, 102 Longview in Conroe. In Willis, volunteers will be at the Meador Branch Library at 709 W. Montgomery on Mondays from 9 a.m. to noon and Thursday from 2-7 p.m.

In New Caney, seniors can visit Kingwood College at 21575 Highway 59, next to the library, on Mondays and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Magnolia residents can visit the Malcolm Purvis Library at 510 Melton St., on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
