THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The community is invited to participate in the “Senior Document Shredding & Electronic Recycling Event” where individuals will shred their sensitive information on site and donate electronics Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 8 a.m. to noon at College Park High School located at 3701 College Park Drive, Conroe, Texas.

The event is free to senior citizens 55 years old or older and a $10 suggested donation is requested from others wishing to participate. This event is being held to help prevent identity theft in the Senior population, who are many times more vulnerable.

100% of the proceeds will benefit the Senior Services at Interfaith of the Woodlands, a non-profit agency serving thousands of people in The Woodlands and surrounding areas. Everyone who brings their paper documents to be shredded will receive a certificate of destruction. Interfaith of the Woodlands will receive an environmental impact report because the shredded paper will be recycled. Most electronics are accepted minus computers and televisions.

Interfaith believes it is important to offer encouragement and connect our senior adult neighbors to resources that promote independent and rich lives. Interfaith Senior Services Department provides a network of resources and referrals to seniors and their families to address the specific needs of older adults. Senior Services also provides a variety of programs and activities to enhance the lives of our community's older residents. Find out more about them at the link below.
