Crew follows young family who selected The Woodlands for new home

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- A crew from the hit cable television show that helps families navigate through the trials and tribulations of finding the right home recently spent two days in The Woodlands with a young family who found the area ideal for their next home.

With coordination by The Woodlands Film Commission, a crew from HGTV’s House Hunters followed Michelle Bellmonte and Robert Magee along with their two children as the young couple toured The Woodlands, talked about what they were looking for in a new home and why the community is the perfect fit for their family.

Segments with the family were shot on a Waterway Cruiser, a Waterway Trolley and at Waterway Square, according to Connie DeGuerre of The Woodlands Area Film Commission, an organization charged with promoting The Woodlands as a viable area for the production of commercials, corporate videos and still photography. The commission also facilitates the production process by scouting locations, identifying local crews and securing housing.

“The trolley experience was particularly appropriate since the family had moved to Texas from San Francisco,” says DeGuerre. “Throughout the taping, the family raved about our shopping, dining, parks and schools. We couldn’t have asked for better spokespersons for a show that reaches a national audience.”

The crew from House Hunters will return to The Woodlands in early October to complete the shoot, says DeGuerre. The segment is scheduled to air on HGTV after the first of the year. An air date and time for the segment will be posted on the film commission’s website.

The Woodlands Area Film Commission is part of The South Montgomery County Woodlands Chamber of Commerce with support from The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau.

“We’re continuing to see growing interest in The Woodlands as a location for photographers and video crews,” says Nick Wolda, president of The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Having a film commission in place helps facilitate these requests – from finding a specific location to securing housing for crews and talent during an extended stay.”
