Houston Rockets support The Woodlands Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- On January 28, 2012, The Woodlands Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. hosted their Second Annual Hoop-It-Up event with the Houston Rockets. Over 300 chapter members from Tyler, Dallas, Austin and the Metropolitan Houston area had a blast cheering the Rockets on to a victory over the New York Knicks, while raising funds for Jack and Jill Foundation.

The event began with a Behind-the-Scenes VIP tour of the Houston Rockets facilities including the Practice Court, the Lexus Lounge (their premier VIP area) and the Red and White Bistro. Visiting kids were then selected to participate in the Pre- and halftime Tunnels, the Benchwarmer Promotion (where kids sit in the players' seats courtside during the National Anthem) and the Ball Exchange promotion (where players give the kids balls). At halftime, The Woodlands Chapter President, Jacqueline Forster, accepted a team autographed ball at center court on behalf of Jack and Jill. After the game, Rockets and Toyota Center Chief Executive Officer Tad Brown and Rockets Starting Center Samuel Dalembart held a Q&A Session with the children where Jack and Jill families learned how to be successful in the sports business.

Jack and Jill of America, Inc., founded in 1938, is a [501(c)(4)] non-profit membership organization of mothers whose aims and objectives focus on the educational, cultural, civic and social health of children.Jack and Jill Foundation is the organizations The Woodlands Chapter was chartered into Jack and Jill of America, Inc. in 1988. Throughout the years, the chapter has sponsored a variety of activities and community service projects for youth.
