OAK RIDGE, Texas –– Unlimited Care Assisted Living Cottages has recently opened its eighth cottage in Oak Ridge.

Located at 26222 Hanna Road, near Interstate 45 and Rayford Road, the new Oak Ridge residential care cottage complements seven other Unlimited Care Assisted Living Cottages located in Spring, The Woodlands area, Cypresswood, and Kingwood.

“We are extremely excited to announce the opening of our eighth cottage in Oak Ridge,” said Terri Buckholtz, co-owner of Unlimited Care Assisted Living Cottages since 1998 with Buck Buckholtz.

The concept offers an alternative to larger, more institutionalized assisted living communities or nursing homes for families in need of care for an aging parent or relative. The cottages provide a smaller scale, family-style atmosphere with dignified care.

The new Oak Ridge cottage consists of a 2,600 square-foot, one-story home with a spacious back yard that is licensed to accommodate up to seven residents through three private and two shared companion bedrooms that can be furnished with personal furniture and belongings.

What sets Unlimited Care Assisted Living Cottages apart is that the care provided results in one of the highest staff-to-resident ratios in the industry – all within a home setting. Cottage residents can enjoy home-cooked meals served at the kitchen table, reclining in the living room to watch television, and soaking up a nice sunny breeze while enjoying nature sitting among the front and back porches.

Services come to the cottages, including physician calls, pharmacy delivery, home health, podiatry care, salon services for hair and nails, and hospice if needed. Local volunteers provide music therapy, pet therapy, craft activities, and visits by mothers with their babies to name a few.

The level of care provided ranges from minimum to maximum care with assistance for activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, transferring, and medication reminders. Transitional care is available for individuals who need extra help after a lengthy stay in the hospital or a rehabilitation center. Respite care is also offered as space is available.

“Our hearts are passionately dedicated to our mission of providing a more comfortable, professionally coordinated, and dignified alternative to care in a loving environment with all the comforts of home,” Buckholtz said. “Therefore, our families are able to simply concentrate on enjoying the relationship with their loved one without worry while knowing they are cared for as a person.”
