La Lupita officially open on Waterway Square

THE WOODLANDS, Texas –– The wait is over.
La Lupita Mexican Cuisine & Bar is now open on The Woodlands Waterway at 20 Waterway Avenue. The new Mexican restaurant officially opened its doors May 8 for foodies eager to sample its authentic, regionally-inspired Mexican dishes (“No Tex, just Mex” is their tagline) and a large selection of premium tequilas and specialty margaritas.
La Lupita’s menu represents all 31 Mexican states and more than 10,000 years of diverse culinary history. Dishes range from cochinita pibil (slow roasted pork in achiote sauce) from Yucatán, a Mayan dish to chile relleno (stuffed poblano pepper) from Puebla, pescadillas (fish tacos) and ceviche from Acapulco, molotitos (plantain croquettes) from Chiapas, carne asada (called Tampiqueña) from Tamaulipas or the pescado a la Veracruzana (fish from Veracruz) are all some an examples of the cuisine that La Lupita brings to the table.
In addition to a wide variety of traditional Mexican food, La Lupita is a tequila lover’s paradise. La Lupita Mexican Cuisine & Bar has it all from blanco, reposado or añejo tequilas. Mezcales, sotoles and extra añejo tequilas are also available.
Upon arrival, visitors will immediately notice La Lupita’s uniquely Mexican flair. Step into the lobby from Waterway Avenue next to the Waterway Avenue Bridge and descend the handcrafted spiral staircase or ride the elevator downstairs to enter the main restaurant. Decorated with vibrant artwork, La Lupita’s atmosphere is a true representation of the country’s culture. Religious icons, Mexican tile and fine woodwork details are just some of the décor’s native touches.
The restaurant’s ribbon cutting May 8 was attended by owners and Woodlands residents, Bill and Claudia Trainor, and The Woodlands Development Company representatives, Greg Jordan and Mike Boudousquie. La Lupita is an AM Restaurant and 20 Waterway Avenue is a real estate project of The Woodlands Development Company.
“We are thrilled to have La Lupita join the group of distinctive restaurants in The Waterway Square District,” said Greg Jordan, director of Commercial Land Sales for The Woodlands Development Company. “The combination of authentic Mexican cuisine with a unique, casual ambiance holds great appeal for residents and visitors alike.”
La Lupita Mexican Cuisine & Bar is open Sunday 10:30 a.m. – 9 p.m., Monday - Wednesday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday – Saturday 11 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. For reservations residents can call 832-510-2111.
