THE WOODLANDS, Texas—All jokes aside, the senior residents at The Forum in The Woodlands didn’t forget about the Alzheimer’s fundraiser this week, and neglect to plan their annual pancake breakfast.

In fact, community neighbors are more inclined to visit the Forum and purchase homemade baked goods from closely-guarded family recipes, than to order a stack of flapjacks.

Whole pies and cakes brought premium prices for Alzheimer’s research at the Wednesday bake sale, but individual slices, single cupcakes, two-fers of cookies and brownies, could be purchased for snacks on the run.

Alzheimer’s disease is one form of dementia that gradually worsens over time, affecting memory, thinking, and behavior. The residents at the Forum are dedicated to supporting research for this debilitating disease.

Annette Neyman, the Community Relations Director for The Forum in The Woodlands, sees daily, the debilitating effects of Alzheimer’s disease.

“Although our assisted-living sections at The Forum are well-equipped and trained to take care of Alzheimer’s patients,” said Neyman, “this is not how any of us would want to live out our last years.”

All proceeds for the bake sale will go to the Alzheimer’s Association. The bake sale will be held on Wednesday, October 3, from from 10 am to 4pm, or until the baked goods sell out. Don’t forget to stop by and pick up a dessert to compliment tonight’s dinner. The Forum is located at 5055 West Panther Creek Drive. Call for more information.
