THE WOODLANDS, Texas—Fundraising creativity is not in short supply in The Woodlands. Fundraising efforts in just the first weekend in October included a road rally in both cars and on motorcycles, walk-a-thons, and no where but Texas…a shootout. But fundraising can be as simple as passing out the bingo cards.

'Pink Party' included bingo, refreshments, prizes, and camaraderie.

Nowhere is bingo played with such passion as The Forum in The Woodlands. A competitive spirit for Bingo mixed in with gourmet food, the staff at The Forum put together a breast cancer fundraiser with little effort. In what is turning out to be a popular annual event, Community Relations Director, Annette Neyman, puts together an event combining Bingo, a Pampered Chef party, door prizes, and refreshments, for a “ Pink Pampered Chef Prize Party.”

“It combines all the things women enjoy doing together,” said Neyman. “Eat, visit, shop, play Bingo, and leave with prizes.”

Even those who don’t win a prize, go away a winner. Many meet a new friend, everyone has had a hot meal, and a percentage of the proceeds of the sale of Pampered Chef merchandise is donated to breast cancer research.

Fundraising doesn’t necessarily require large committees and a year of planning, complicated logistics, or elaborate galas. It just takes good friends, good food, good times, and a good cause.
