Woodlands-Based Truth Entertainment executive produces Dallas Buyers Club

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands, TX-based TRUTH Entertainment, LLC is breaking down doors and bringing Hollywood to the Lone Star State.

Chairman, and co-founder, Joe Newcomb, founded TRUTH Entertainment as a result of a long and successful history in the oil & gas, and chemical trading industries, with TRUTH Industries.

CEO and co-founder Tony Notargiacomo’s success with start-ups and business development within the cable television and technology sectors, and most recently from billion-dollar luxury real estate company, Club Holdings, LLC, is combining with Newcomb’s success in attracting Hollywood heavy-weights to The Lone Star State.

TRUTH Entertainment has a simple idea: buy scripts and produce films with industry leaders, but from right here in Texas. Looking to close the initial $25 million fund to finance and produce three to six independent films per year in the $5-15 million range, the company is looking to add investors and to the current list of film projects.

Through its development arm, TRUTH Entertainment will package and also invest in outside projects, and is partnering with Logan Levy ('Ain't Them Bodies Saints') and Holly Wiersma ('Factory Girl') to develop, finance, and produce feature films across a variety of genres and platforms.

Approaching their close friends and family as initial investors, TRUTH Entertainment acquired the film rights and is Executive Producing, along with Levy and Wiersma, The Dallas Buyer’s Club, starring Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner.

Voltage Pictures is handling international sales for the pic, which is receiving OSCAR-buzz, and commences shooting Nov. 11. Voltage's Nicolas Chartier and Zev Foreman will also executive produce with Cassian Elwes. Robbie Brenner and Rachel Winter are producing

TRUTH Entertainment is launching TRUTH Music, its music division in early 2013.
