'Lipsticks and Dipsticks' focuses on wealth management

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Discover some helpful tips for managing your income, and your future, at the Lipsticks and Dipsticks Car Clinic hosted by Milstead Automotive on May 2. The free event designed especially for women is featuring some experts who will share car care and financial tips full of ways to avoid scams, reap big savings and plan for a more secure financial future.

“This Clinic is designed to provide information that will help women of all ages to manage their money wisely and learn how to plan for their future,” said Amy Milstead, President, Milstead Automotive and Transmission. "Whether you’re single or married, young or older, the time comes when you have to make a decision and may wonder if you’ve made the right choice. The information shared at this event will educate you on how to make the best choice—not only about your car repairs and other expenses that you face on a regular basis—but your future as well. It’s aimed at giving women the information they need to be well-educated consumers.”

Guest speaker for the event will be Marla Sherrod, CFP, from Edward Jones, who will share timely tips about planning for your future.

“It’s very important for women of all ages to understand what their financial future will look like based upon what they now have,” Sherrod said. “Retirement looks different today. It’s changed. Today when you retire there are many decisions to make. Will you work part time? Do you want to do volunteer work? Or do you want to go back to school? Whatever the decision, you need to be financially prepared.”

Sherrod will explore some key topics to preparing for a financially sound future. How do you organize and record your financial assets? How do you set realistic goals for retirement spending? How do you determine if you’re on track to reach your retirement goals? When do you start? Answers to these and other pertinent questions will provide a good foundation to begin work on your financial future, or strengthen the plan you already have in place.

An evening of helpful information, the Lipsticks and Dipsticks Clinic is an opportunity to spend a relaxing evening with friends and get acquainted with other women from the surrounding area. Refreshments will be provided by Crescent Moon Wine Bar and Restaurant.
