Compass Lecture Series at The Woodlands Christian Academy kicks off

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Christian Academy kicked off its Compass Lecture Series with "What Does Christian Have to do with Education", presented by Dr. Richard Riesen. The esteemed Dr. Riesen is a leading Christian educator and author of "Piety and Philosophy" and "The Academic Imperative".

His experience includes 15 years as head of school at Pacific Christian on the Hill, an inner-city Christian junior high and high school in Los Angeles, CA. For the past eight years, he has led In Christo Vera Educatio, a non-profit foundation that provides financial aid to low income families to help send their children to Christian secondary schools.

As an educator, Dr. Riesen has been an adjunct faculty member at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA, where he taught ecclesiastical history, as well as a teacher of English to medical doctors and medical school professors at Qingdao Medical College in Qingdao, China.

He holds a PhD in ecclesiastical history from the University of Edinburgh, an MA in European intellectual history from Claremont Graduate School, and a BA in history, with a minor in English, from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
