THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The purpose behind this event is for The Woodlands Car Club to provide a morning gathering to show off their special vehicles within the car club, be a supportive partner with Market Street and the local community, share information about needful non-profit organizations in Montgomery County, and to give back monetarily as well. TWCC will be collecting change for their donation to the Market Street “Change for Charities” program that will benefit non-profit organizations in Montgomery County. TWCC has collected and donated over $7,000 to local charities from this program since 2008.

The four recipients for 2014 are:

First Quarter: Montgomery County Search & Rescue - Volunteers work with Law Enforcement Agencies to help in various situations such as lost or missing persons, drowning victims, hiking accidents, swift water and wilderness rescue. It is the mission of search teams to identify and document clues in order to track and successfully locate missing or overdue persons involved in any of the situations listed. www.mocsar.org.

Second Quarter: Education for Tomorrow Alliance - Dedicated to connecting the business and education communities in Montgomery County. With innovative programs focused on science, technology and career preparation, EfTA has become the portal through which business leaders can access and strengthen local education. Our vision is that every student is equipped with the knowledge and skills to be career and college ready. www.efta-us.org.

Third Quarter: Montgomery County Youth Services – Committed to working with youth and their families through human services and mental health programs. MCYS was established in 1979 by a group of community leaders who developed juvenile justice prevention services for at-risk youth in the community. Conflict in the home, runaways, peer pressure, self-esteem issues, school issues, behavior, grief and divorce, homelessness, abuse, neglect, violence, crisis / emergency intervention, and decisions. http://youthmc.org.

Fourth Quarter: Children’s Cancer Recovery Foundation – Assists children under age 18 and their families who are facing the hardships of a cancer diagnosis. The Foundation focuses on improving the mental, social and emotional well-being of these families while helping to minimize the devastation that cancer can cause. We measure the true impact of our organization in smiles. A national footprint allows the Foundation to make a difference in communities, large and small, providing a helping hand wherever needed. http://childrenscancerrecovery.org.
