THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Since 1981, Champion Forest Exteriors, Inc. has been providing residents of North Houston with quality exterior remodeling services, focusing on siding and windows, while also delivering the upmost standard of professionalism and integrity to every single one of their customers.

Michael Guthrie and his wife, Tammy, are the owners of Champion Forest Exteriors. Growing up, Guthrie's father owned a homebuilding and exterior remodeling company. This helped establish Champion Forest Exteriors that focuses exclusively on siding and window installations. Along with his passion for exterior remodeling, Guthrie also believes in the family tradition of providing quality customer service.

“I can boil it down to one thing,” said Guthrie. “Do what you say you’re going to do in a timely, efficient, and respectful manner.”

Guthrie also takes pride in the fact that Champion Forest Exteriors has very detailed contracts so that the homeowner, as well as his company, knows exactly what is involved with each project.

“We bring up potential issues up front versus signing the contract and dealing with it later,” said Guthrie. “We try to make it as close to what the clients are anticipating to invest in the project.”

For homeowners who wish to have new siding, Guthrie and his team use HardiPlank, a trusted brand used all over the nation. With products specifically engineered for the Houston climate, HardiPlank is known for its strength, durability and beauty. Older houses in the area have siding that can start to rot after just 10 years, and HardiPlank is a solution to siding that is deteriorating. The fiber-cement product doesn’t rot and comes with a 30-year warranty.

Just like siding, Champion Forest Exteriors uses a specific and trusted brand for window installations as well. The company uses Simonton Windows because of their commitment to excellence: something Guthrie and his team take very seriously. Simonton specializes in vinyl windows, with a great attention to detail and design.

Aside from the pristine look of new windows, they have other benefits for homes as well.

“Windows are a big focus of our business,” said Guthrie. “A lot of time, homeowners think of new windows as energy efficient, but that is just one component. It also makes the overall climate inside of the room more balanced, and it makes the room more comfortable.”

Guthrie notes that clients see a dramatic reduction of street noise after putting in Simonton Windows, making for a much quieter living space. Not to mention, new windows create an overall updated look to a house.

One of Guthrie’s most rewarding parts about his business is seeing a client’s reaction to their new windows for the first time.

“It is something they get to enjoy everyday,” said Guthrie. “I always say that every house should have at least one ‘wow’ window. That is when the homeowner walks into the room for the first time and looks at it and says ‘wow, that’s nice.’”

When Guthrie installs a window, he looks at it through a creative aspect.

“I see windows as a design. When people sit in a particular room, I ask myself, ‘what is happening?’ If a room looks out at a pool, we will do a picture window. You get to be creative. We just recently finished our biggest window job ever: 61 windows!”

Not only does Guthrie work hard at finding the best possible products for his business, but he also strives to treat each and every customer with the highest amount of respect. He may be the owner, but Guthrie is involved in the day-to-day logistics of the company and makes himself available to all of his customers: Probably explaining why after 33 years of business and 6,000 homeowners served, Champion Forest Exteriors, Inc. has yet to receive a complaint from the Better Business Bureau, consistently holding an A+ rating.
