New business 'details' houses for new tenants

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Nobody leaves until the job is done. How many have heard those words growing up? And once you’re grown-up, you still have to live by them. You’ve packed and moved the contents of the house, but the job’s not done because the house needs to be cleaned and ‘prepped’ for the next tenants.

Anyone who has ever moved, knows this is the unsavory part of the process. You can’t move on without cleaning up your mess. No one knows this better than Johnny Hanna.

“We had outgrown our home and needed a bigger place. I was constantly having to step over kids,” said Hanna. “We found a bigger house, but we had to clean it up before we could move in; then we had to clean up the place we were moving out of,” added Hanna.

Hanna knows firsthand, what an ordeal that is, after all, he had to do it more than once. He then realized that when people move on, they don’t want to look back; they just want to look forward and get on with their lives. This spawned a business akin to detailing an automobile. Hanna started ‘detailing’ houses. He began to acquire the necessary equipment to clean houses inside and out; pressure washing and carpet cleaning equipment were among his first purchases.

Their process works from the outside in, starting with pressure washing dirt and grime from the driveway, removing mold from the exterior brick, cleaning patios and decks, and clearing pine needles and leaves from roofs. The interior gets cleaned from top to bottom...removing cobwebs, cleaning out the fireplace, steamcleaning all floor surfaces..carpet, tile/grout, etc., and disinfecting and sanitizing kitchens and bathrooms. Upon completion, the house is ready for ‘move-in’.

“I work with residents ‘on the move,’ real estate agents, landlords, anyone who has a house that needs detailing,” said Hanna.

Hanna provides his service for the Montgomery County and surrounding area. With the boom in housing sales, his timing has been spot on. Real estate agents are reporting selling houses faster than any other time in the history of the county, which means occupants have to move out quickly. Hanna’s Steam Clean & Pressure Washing will move in just as quickly, to ‘prep’ the house.

“The house doesn’t have to be up for sale to get the outdoors detailed,” said Hanna. “We do garage floors, driveways, and clean exterior brick for residents too.”
