THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Free outdoor composting classes are provided by The Woodlands Township’s Environmental Services office on the first Saturday in November, December, January, February and March at the Parks Recreation and Environmental Services building at 8203 Millennium Forest Drive. Class starts at 10 a.m., so please arrive early to view the equipment display and to explore the array of information prior to the class.

Learn how to turn your yard waste products into rich hand-made compost that:

Increases the soil’s capacity to hold moisture, reducing irrigation needs.

Reduces evaporation from exposed soil.

Reduces water runoff and prevents soil erosion.

Enriches soil to promote healthy roots and plant growth.

These classes also offer an opportunity to purchase a high quality collapsible compost bin at a reduced cost. There will be drawings for composting-related door prizes, including a new compost bin, following each class.
