THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Michael T. ""Mikey"" Wehrle, 18, Canfield, Ohio, died on Sunday, March 27, 2016, in Texas. He was born July 9, 1997, in Ravenna, Ohio, the son of William P. and Susan L. Wehrle, who survive him.

Michael was a good athlete and student, and a great son and brother. He loved basketball, football and especially taking rides with his father, just talking. He was enrolling at the University of Pittsburgh this fall to study pre-med. Mikey loved his friends and family and was fiercely loyal to all who were close to him. He had a great sense of humor, was tough as nails, yet had a huge heart. Michael worked hard to be successful and did not give up easily.

In addition to his parents, surviving relatives include a sister, Sarah Wehrle; his maternal grandmother, Ruth Cautero; aunts and uncles, Lisa and Al Tasca and children Anthony and James; Marcia Parise and family; James and Cathy Wehrle and family; Barney and Diane Wehrle and family; and George and Carol Wehrle and family. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Ann Wehrle; his maternal grandfather, Anthony Cautero; a brother, Thomas Wehrle, and an aunt, Audrey Wehrle.

Those close to him will always remember many beautiful conversations with Mikey about life, school and the future while driving in the countryside around Punxsutawney, Canfield and The Woodlands area. In his short time on this earth, he made a lot of friends and touched many people in a positive way. He will be missed by so many who loved him. No words can really capture the essence of Mikey, as he has left a huge hole in the lives of his friends and family and will be missed forever.
