Memorial Hermann Mischer Neuroscience The Woodlands welcomes new pain management specialist

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Memorial Hermann Mischer Neuroscience Associates (MNA) is pleased to announce the addition of Divya Chirumamilla, M.D., interventional pain medicine specialist at Mischer Neuroscience Associates-The Woodlands and clinical assistant professor of neurosurgery in the Vivian L. Smith Department of Neurosurgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth.

“We are excited to expand our pain management services in north Houston,” said Dong Kim, M.D., Director of the Mischer Neuroscience Institute and professor and chair of the department of neurosurgery. “With her strong educational background and expertise, I am confident that Dr. Chirumamilla will provide The Woodlands community with exceptional service to better manage and treat pain.”

Dr. Chirumamilla joined Mischer Neuroscience Associates from Harvard Medical School, where she was an instructor and served as clinical faculty in the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine. She received her medical degree at J.J.M. Medical College in Davangere, India, then completed her anesthesiology residency at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston. Following her residency, Dr. Chirumamilla completed a pain medicine fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

She has received multiple awards for her work in pain management and anesthesiology, including Brookdale University Hospital’s Outstanding Resident Award and the Carol A. Warfield Award in Pain Management. Additionally, Dr. Chirumamilla is fluent in English, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada, and has participated in medical missions to Zimbabwe and Colombia.
