THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- What's on your plate this week? Don't forget to leave time for a little fun. Here's a look at what's happening around The Woodlands.

Your work day may end around 5, but the business of networking with like-minded professionals is just beginning. The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours is a social event open to members and prospective members. Meet and mingle with the movers and shakers of your community, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday April 10 at Kirby's Prime Steakhouse. Register at www.woodlandschamber.org/events. Don't forget your business card.

April 8 – 15 is Oral, Head & Neck Cancer Awareness Week. These cancers are uncommon but impact some of the most important functions: eating, speaking and breathing. Get a free screening by Dr. Douglas Stanley, 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday April 11 at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center, in the professional building at 9200 Pinecroft, Suite 425.

Watch some of The Woodlands most notable residents Dance for a Cause at the 6th Annual YMCA Dancing With The Woodlands Stars, 6 – 9 p.m. Thursday April 12 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. All proceeds benefit The Woodlands Family YMCA annual campaign to ensure no one is denied a chance to participate at the Y due to income issues. The event includes a buffet dinner, silent and live auction, live entertainment … and the opportunity to take a local star for a spin on the dance floor after the friendly competition. Reserve your seat by contacting rdavis@ymcahouston.org.

Friday the 13th is a lucky day for those going to Giving Goes Glam, a highly anticipated annual event sponsored by Interfaith of The Woodlands and Junior League of The Woodlands. Attendees take in a fashion show featuring professional and community models, enjoy lunch, and help raise funds for the many programs both Interfaith and Junior League are well known for in Montgomery County. Check it out from 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Friday April 13 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. Tickets available at givinggoesglam.org.

Wrap up the week with some family time at Family Bingo Night, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Friday April 13. Hosted by The Woodlands Parks and Recreation, this event features the classic game favored by many, fun prizes and snacks. All ages are welcome. The fee is $5 per person.
