Memorial Hermann reunites FedEx Employee with hospital team, EMS and coworkers who saved his life
CYPRESS, TX -- It was Joseph Vincent’s first day in his new job in the FedEx Warehouse when he started feeling ill and lost consciousness. As it turned out, Vincent was in cardiac arrest. Thankfully, the warehouse had recently installed automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and his coworkers had been trained on exactly what to do to keep Vincent alive until Cy-Fair EMS arrived. Vincent was transported to Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital where he we was resuscitated and rushed into emergency heart surgery.
Today, Vincent returned to Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital to reunite with Cy-Fair EMS, his co-workers and the hospital care team and thank them all for saving his life. Vincent is now doing cardiac rehab at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center and recovering at home. He hopes to return to work next month.
