The Woodlands Taste of the Town more appetizing than ever; Robard's Steakhouse a winner
THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Thousands of people attended the 33rd Annual Woodlands Chamber of Commerce Taste of the Town Jan. 17 at the Woodlands Waterway Marriott.
'It's a great feeling to be recognized.' - Robard's Pastry Chef Ryan Witcher
Robard's Steakhouse took home the award for Best Dessert. Pastry Chef Ryan Witcher and his team served up chocolate ice cream, made right in front of you on dry ice, with olive oil and bacon, among other ingredients, served in a tiny chocolate cone.
"It's very humbling," Witcher said of the accolades. "The team worked very hard. This is a big venue with a lot of restaurants here. It's a great feeling to be recognized as Best Dessert."
One of the longest lines was at the booth of Avenida Brazil Churrascaria Steakhouse, where Chef Vanderlei Bernardi served up 21-day aged sirloin steak, seared on site, with a side of au gratin potatoes. The dish won Best Entrée in 2018.
The 2019 winners are:
