THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Belles & Chimes Houston, Space City’s first and only women’s pinball league, is hosting a pinball tournament on Saturday, March 9, at 3 p.m. at The Game Preserve (473 Sawdust Road) in celebration of their one-year anniversary. Women of all ages and skill levels are invited to attend the event.

About Belles & Chimes
Space City Pinball League women’s division, The Belles of Space City, is the local chapter of the worldwide Belles & Chimes organization founded by tournament director, Elizabeth Dronet and assistant director Raleigh Palis. Belles & Chimes is an international network of women's pinball leagues started in 2013. It is run by women, for women. The mission is to provide a fun, social environment for women to play pinball together.

“I started the Belles and Chimes chapter in Houston to encourage more women to play pinball in the competitive scene,” says Dronet. “At Belles’ events we focus on learning the games by sharing tips and tricks while also enjoying each other’s company. After this boost of confidence, many of our ladies now compete in the co-ed open tournaments and some have even had success on the state and national level.”

Seasoned player Lisa Shore has been competing in Space City’s co-ed tournaments for several years. “At first I wasn't sure we needed a women's league in Houston, but I was wrong. It's a completely different feel than playing with the guys. The atmosphere is always fun and supportive. We cheer each other on,” said Shore.

The Belles of Space City host women’s tournaments on the second Saturday of each month at The Game Preserve. Space City Pinball League also offers co-ed tournaments that are open to the public throughout the month at arcades around the city including The Game Preserve in The Woodlands, EinStein’s Pub in Katy, and Joystix in downtown Houston. All league events are sanctioned by the International Flipper Pinball Association and earn points toward world rankings.
