HOUSTON, Texas - The inaugural St. Jude International Gala for Hope presented by BMW of Houston North set the bar high for first year events that fundraise for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The volunteer committee was recognized with the Best Up and Coming Award during the Volunteer Leadership Conference in Memphis, TN. This award is granted every year to a dinner or gala that exceeds fundraising expectations and brings awareness to the mission of St. Jude.

The inaugural St. Jude International Gala for Hope was a celebration of the St. Jude international reach through culture, art and fashion. In their first year, this committee was able to secure an internationally renowned Mexican designer, Armando Mafud. They held an extremely successful silent auction with pieces donated to St. Jude by artists from countries such as France, Colombia, Argentina and the United States. Kika Rocha, a People en Español fashion icon, led a beautiful program as Master of Ceremonies. This event was a huge success in its first year and it was all due to the committee’s innovative ideas, hard work and love for the St. Jude Mission. The volunteer committee and Event Chair, Katherine Woodcock, lead this international event which is sponsored by BMW of Houston North, La Michoacana, AeroMexico, MHB Beauty & Boutique and Ambriza Social Mexican Kitchen.
