EFHOU kicks off Endometriosis Awareness Month with Feminine Hygiene Products Drive

HOUSTON, Texas - During Endometriosis Awareness Month, the Endometriosis Foundation ofHouston is teaming up with area businesses for a feminine hygiene product drive to benefitthe Mission of Yahweh, a local women and children's shelter.Between March 1 and March 31, EFHou will collect donations of feminine hygiene products,including sanitary napkins, panty liners, tampons and menstrual cups.The Mission of Yahweh is a 501 c3 nonprofit that offers a variety of assistance programsfocused on ending the cycle of homelessness and dependency, including transitionalhousing, aftercare programs, spiritual counseling and educational and vocational support.The Endometriosis Foundation of Houston (pending nonprofit status) is a new organization inHouston whose mission is to raise awareness of endometriosis - a chronic disease affectingnearly 200 million women worldwide and roughly 300,000 women in the greater Houstonarea. Endometriosis is as common as asthma and requires a medical diagnosis, but it cantake a person an average of 10 years to be properly diagnosed by a doctor.
