THE WOODLANDS, Tx -- Comments from Coach Jill Del Rio:

Girls’ Team

The girls’ team has a terrific combination of returning players and new players. We will have a few growing pains working as we figure out how the team will work together to find our best possible team, but we do have some wonderful talent, so I don’t expect us to take too long to figure it out.

Boys’ Team

We have only one senior and lots of freshman this year, so this is a year for our team to grow! The boys are a competitive bunch and the lines for positions see some tough challenges.

Key Matchups:

Girls: Houston Christian will probably the be the team we are most competitive with; we play on April 25th at their facility.

Boys: St. Johns’ team is probably our key match-up this year (April 3rd-away).

Athletes To Watch:

Girls: Marielle and Olivia Sauber are sisters and each has a unique perspective on the game and a dedication to the sport that is rarely seen at their age. As freshmen, they add support in either doubles or singles and have easily fit in with the team from the first practice. Look for both girls to stand out this season.

Boys: As our only senior, Omar Suki will bring depth to the team and a solid base. Omar is a terrific singles player, but in the last couple of years he has stood out as one of our best doubles players. Look to see him in either position this season.
