THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Music, arts and crafts classes, and community health and fitness events all give residents a chance to choose the activity suited to their energy level this week. The Woodlands is never a place lacking things to do. See our Events Calendar for the full list of happenings.

The GRAMMY® Award-winning Dave Matthews Band will be rocking the stage at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Friday, May 17. These guys have a loyal following as they’ve top charts for years now. With the release of 2018’s “Come Tomorrow,” Dave Matthews Band became the first group in history to have seven consecutive studio albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Saturday, May 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free Health, Wellness and Fitness Expo. This event, underwritten by America's ER, is open to the public. Bring your family, friends or workout buddy to check out the free health screenings available, try a goat yoga session, or join in on kid-friendly activities! Goat Yoga tickets start at $35. Register for a goat yoga class here. Kids 7 years and younger are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal and participate in the Teddy Bear Check-ups event. Be on Market Street for the health-focused day, rain or shine.

Another option complimenting healthy lifestyles is Bike The Woodlands Day. The Woodlands Township is holding multiple cycling events on Saturday, May 18 at Northshore Park beginning at 9 a.m. The first 250 bikers will receive a voucher for a free Kona Ice snow cone, while supplies last. The day will feature children’s activities, a Kid’s Bike Rodeo, food trucks, live music and more. You can buy, sell or swap bikes and bike parts at the fourth annual Bike Month Swap Meet. Bikes in decent working condition (minor adjustments or fixes needed allowed) can be donated. Interfaith of The Woodlands will distribute the donations to those in need. Both an adult bicycle skills class and a youth class are to be held at the event. Register for specific classes here.

For those transporting small children in their vehicles, swing by to receive a complimentary car seat check at Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands on Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. There is no more precious cargo than that of an innocent child. Protect them. This event is a quick way to ensure that our loved ones are riding safely with us. Appointments are not required but are recommended. Make an appointment here. Some seats will be available for qualifying families needing assistance.

For some unknown reason, boys and girls ages 8 to 12 love oozing, gooey slime. When they make it themselves, it’s even more fun. Paint and Bubbles Studio is holding a Slime Night on Saturday, May 18 from 6:30 - 9 p.m. Several slime stations and will keep kids ages 8-12 busy making up to six slime creations to take home. Limited to the first 20 registered guests. Register here for the event which is $25 per person.
