Open Auditions for National Youth Theater’s Frozen Jr.

National Youth Theater (NYT) announces auditions for Frozen JR., the 2018 Broadway musical that brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage. Auditions for this production are open to ages 8 to 19 and will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 at Lone Star College in Tomball.

Audition Preparation Workshop Available


A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen JR. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor, Frozen JR. is sure to thaw even the coldest heart!

Auditions will be held Friday, September 13 with callbacks on Saturday, September 14. Auditions, callbacks, and rehearsals will be held at Lone Star College Tomball located at 30555 Tomball Parkway in Tomball. Rehearsals begin September 20, with performances taking place November 16 & 17. The directorial team includes director Lisa Morales, vocal director Jim Halford, and choreographer Jenny Gallegos.

Those auditioning should prepare a musical theatre song, 16-32 bars or one minute in length. Bring an accompaniment on your iPad, iPod, or Smartphone to sing with. To audition for Frozen JR., please register online at nationalyouththeater.org. Once you have signed-up, you will be able to select an audition time.

Audition Preparation Workshop will be held on Saturday, August 24 at Lone Star College Tomball. The workshop is broken into two age groups: ages 8-12 will be 10 a.m.-noon, and ages 13-19 will be noon-2 p.m. Participants will be instructed on how to properly present themselves in a monologue, how to choose the correct song which compliments their voice, how and when to prepare for their audition, and more.
