The Woodlands Economic Development Partnership Announces Its New Officers and Board of Directors

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership (EDP) held its Annual Meeting and Partner Celebration on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at The Woodlands Resort.

At the Annual Meeting, special guest Congressman Kevin Brady acknowledged the EDP for its contributions to the community and Montgomery County. Heidi Carney, Immediate Past Chairman and Chairman of the Nominating Committee, with First Financial Bank announced the newly appointed officers and board members for the 2019-2020 term. The outgoing 2018-2019 board members were recognized for their contributions, Jimmy Dupuis of Kean Miller and Stephen Wright of Wright Business Technologies. Gil Staley, CEO provided an organizational overview of accomplishments for the past fiscal year. The meeting concluded with an awards presentation for the 2018-2019 officers and staff were recognized with lapel pins honoring their years of service, a combined 42 years of service between the three staff members. The EDP has been the industry leader in promoting economic vitality of The Woodlands Area through the support of existing businesses and the recruitment of new businesses for over 22 years.

“It was my pleasure to present our annual report to our Partners and especially pleasing to have Congressman Kevin Brady in the audience. Congressman Brady was instrumental in establishing the EDP as an affiliate organization of The Woodlands Chamber, during his term as President of the Chamber, 22 years ago. The EDP continues to be the leading agency for economic development in The Woodlands Area. As reported, optimism abounds with key business retention projects like Anadarko Petroleum and Alight Solutions. It was obvious from the many positive remarks from our diverse group of Partners that they join in the enthusiasm of a vibrant economy” said Gil Staley, Chief Executive Officer of the EDP.

Immediately following the meeting, partners and guests attended the reception to honor the outgoing Chairman, Jim Calvetti with Calvetti Ferguson for his leadership to EDP this past year.

Effective September 1, 2019 the newly appointed 2019-2020 officers include Chairman Ron Roberson with Caldwell Companies; Vice-Chairman, Josh Urban with Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center; Secretary Paul Carroll with Efficient Wealth Management; Treasurer Steve Smith with BB&T; and Immediate Past Chairman, Jim Calvetti with Calvetti Ferguson.
