THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Crews will be on site through the weekend

We appreciate the community’s patience while our contractors continue to repair the Groundwater Reduction Plan water line break in The Woodlands as well as the eastbound lanes of Research Forest. SJRA and Commissioner James Noack- Montgomery County Precinct Three’s Office want things repaired as quickly and as safely as possible, unfortunately it is not a quick process. We realize this is an immense inconvenience for everyone who drives in the area. Repairing a water line and a major thoroughfare is a large-scale project that requires a detailed process to ensure the work is done properly and safely. The process is outlined below. We will continue to post updates on social media. Thank you again, for working with us to ensure the safety of the community.

Process:
Uncover affected area after Tropical Storm Imelda;
Dewater the area;
Remove bank sand from around the pipe;
Install a new section of pipe;
Hydrotest the new pipe;
Backfill the affected area;
Remove remaining pavement;
Re-pave the affected area; and
Coordination with Commissioner James Noack- Montgomery County Precinct Three’s Office to reopen the eastbound side.
