THE WOODLANDS, TX -- On Friday, October 25, 2019, Woodlands Christian fourth grader, Michael Atkinson, was awarded 1st place in the 2019 Conflict Resolution Day Bookmark Art Contest, hosted by the Dispute Resolution Center (DRC). Reinforcing the DRC’s mission, Senator Brandon Creighton spoke about bullying and cyberbullying. Over 70 schools participated throughout Montgomery County, with 2033 entries.

The DRC enlists the help of students to help prevent or resolve conflicts by listening, respecting differences, problem solving and peace building. Art teacher, Susan Peterson, who coordinated the contest at The Woodlands Christian Academy said, “I am so proud of all our students who participated. This contest gives them an opportunity to use their artistic talents to do what Christ commanded all of us to do—to love one another and be peacemakers in the world.”
