Woodlands Online’s Summer Camp Guide: your best resource to keep the kiddos occupied while you're at work
THE WOODLANDS, TX – Each day this week and next, school is letting out for the summer in the local school districts and private schools. Except for those unlucky few who need to attend summer school classes, you can expect empty schools for the near future.
While typically a blessing and source of joy for the kids, summer break can wreak havoc on their parents, especially when one or both are working at day jobs. Studies indicate that a significant portion of children stay at home during the summer break, with approximately 17 percent of families having their children stay home alone; additionally, 21 percent of children would have to stay home for the majority of the summer break due to financial constraints.
This means that a substantial number of children are not participating in camps, day trips, or other activities during the summer months. Fortunately, The Woodlands area is filled with camps of all genres, times, and costs to cater to all families living locally.
With camps in art, science, football, robotics, soccer, math, education, swimming, nature, dance, acting, and more, parents can easily be overwhelmed with the choices; not only that, but it’s nigh impossible to find out exactly who is offering what and when and for how much.
Woodlands Online to the rescue. We currently have available our complete, comprehensive, and user-friendly Summer Camp Guide. This online resource allows you to easily scroll through the dozens (if not hundreds) of camp classes being offered over the break. You can search by type of camp for your budding scientist, artist, or athlete, or by the offering entity, or by dates and times available. Or you can browse the entire listing and bounce ideas off your children.
In any case, you’ll be able to find a camp that’s suitable for both your budget and your kiddo’s attention span. This free guide, sponsored this year by The Woodlands Christian Academy, is available at www.woodlandsonline.com/spgs/summercamps/.
