THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The John Cooper Dragon Basketball Teams Compete During Holiday Break. Results from the week of November 25.

vs. The Village School • 70-29 LOSS

Michael Bannerman led the team with 11 points.

vs. Wheatley High School • 74-49 LOSS

Michael Bannerman led the team with 20 points.

Coach Matthew Wilson: We competed in the Texas Jamboree this weekend, one of the most competitive holiday tournaments in Texas. We drew The Village School and Wheatley High School. I am very proud of our boys’ performance. Due to injury and illness, we were missing nearly half the team. The guys who could play battled and gave everything they had.

Dec. 5-7 at Houston Christian Tournament

Dec. 10 at Legacy Prep, 7 p.m.

GIRLS’ VARSITY BASKETBALL

11/25-26 at Bay Area Christian Tournament • 4th place/12 teams

vs. Westbury Christian • 67-47 WIN

vs. Bay Area Christian • 65-13 WIN

vs. Trinity Christian • 67-42 LOSS

vs. Hitchcock • 59-43 LOSS

Coach B.J. Feuerhelm: We played an incredibly talented tournament pool and this experience was good for us moving forward. The chance to play a defending state champion and a public school with a rich basketball history will be beneficial in preparing us for SPC play.

11/30 vs. Lutheran North • 63-62 WIN

Ajailah Ogiemwonyi (19 points) was named player of the game

Coach B.J. Feuerhelm: To be down as many as 12 early on, the girls showed an amazing resilience in fighting back against a top tier team in Lutheran North. We got contributions on both ends of the floor from everyone on our roster. A total team victory and it was awesome to see as we head into the conclusion of a non-conference competition.
