THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Woodlands native Jessica Fraser’s book, Keep Going: A 30-Day Devotional of Encouragement and Truth, is a devotional for moms in all stages of the parenting journey. Within its pages Fraser shares authentic stories from her life that are both vulnerable and heartfelt.

“I cover hard topics, such as my experience with miscarriage and my struggle with anxiety, and share lighter stories, like the time my boys embarrassed me in a public restroom,” Fraser said. “It's all fair game in this book, because that's real life.”

As a child Fraser dreamed of publishing a book. She toiled for years with manuscript ideas and poured her heart out into journals. After writing devotionals for preschool teachers at her kids’ school for years, she prayed about when she should publish them in a book.

“I sat down one day with a clear vision of what I wanted the devotional to look like and then God provided the supernatural energy to put it together,” she said. She self-published the book, so everything from the cover design to the manuscript formatting was personally crafted.

One unique aspect of its composition is the addition of songs, which accompany each day. “At the end of the book, readers have a 30-song playlist to remind them of the journey they were on during the reading of this book,” she said.

Her hope is that her readers gain encouragement and truth. “We live in a world that pulls and pushes us in a thousand different directions. We have more access to information than ever before, and we struggle to sift through it to find truth,” she said. “I hope this book communicates to moms they are enough, right where they are, doing what they are doing. I want them to know they are extravagantly loved by Jesus and pursued by Him. I want them to take comfort in the pages and know there is no judgment there, no comparison and no need to strive,” she added.

“At the heart of every story, you'll find how Jesus worked to deepen my faith. You'll see how I fell in love with God more and more through each story,” she said.

Fraser has lived in The Woodlands since she was in fourth grade. She graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a degree in Communications and has started coursework to obtain her Masters of Christian Leadership at Dallas Theological Seminary. She currently works as Director of Communications at WoodsEdge Community Church. She loves to spend time with her five kids who are all ages nine and under. After they’ve gone to bed for the night, she can be found curled up on the couch with a good book.
