Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Makes Arrest in Improper Educator/Student Relationship Case in The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, TX - On December 13, 2019, at about 5:15 pm, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office received information that a high school student of The Woodlands Christian Academy had informed her mother of an inappropriate relationship between herself and a teacher identified as Lacey Jo Cunningham (32-year-old female).

Detectives later interviewed Ms. Cunningham at her apartment, located at 2443 FM 1488, Conroe, TX. During the interview, Ms. Cunningham cooperated with Detectives and consented to the search and removal of numerous electronic devices, which will undergo forensic and digital analysis.

On December 18, 2019, as a result of the information obtained in the investigation, Detectives obtained an arrest warrant on the felony charge of Improper Relationship between Educator/Student for Ms. Cunningham.

On December 19, 2019, Ms. Cunningham turned herself in to the Montgomery County Jail where she was placed in custody for Improper Relationship between Educator/Student, a second-degree felony, with a $50,000 bond. Ms. Cunningham has since bonded out.

State law and MCSO policy is clear in restriction of the release of information regarding offenses of this nature. Therefore, no further information can be released regarding this matter at this time.
