Join The John Cooper School for their 21st Habitat for Humanity Home Build

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Middle School students will get in on the action to support The John Cooper School’s 21st Habitat Project that is currently under construction.

PAINTING
Students 14 years of age and older will paint the exterior of the home.

BUILDING BIRDHOUSES and TOUR
Students between the ages of 11 and 13 will construct birdhouses to benefit Habitat for Humanity
MCTX and will tour this year’s Cooper Habitat house.

PROJECT BACKGROUND
The John Cooper School Habitat Project is led annually by a steering committee of Upper School
students, who along with additional student volunteers raise the necessary funding and construct a new
home annually in partnership with the Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, TX.

Upper School student volunteers are responsible for the majority of the home’s construction, Middle
School student volunteers participate in the painting of the home, and Lower School student volunteers
plant flowers and provide landscaping. A dedication ceremony for the 21st consecutive Habitat home
built by the Cooper community, affectionately called “The House That John Built,” will be held in the
spring of 2020.

Quarters for Quarters fundraising campaign in Lower School (ongoing)
FEB 1: “Cooper’s Got Talent” Talent Show – Glenn Performing Arts Center – Fundraiser
FEB 7: Habitat BBQ Fundraiser as part of SPIRIT WEEK - all home games on campus
FEB 15, 29 & MARCH 21: Workdays
APRIL: (Exact date TBD) Lower School Plant Day
