I am pleased to share that the CARES Act, the third package aimed at staving off the novel coronavirus, passed Congress today.

I was honored to lead Republican floor debate on the passage of this important bill. While no one will agree with every part of this rescue bill, we are facing a challenge rarely seen in America’s history and we must act.

The CARES Act will give financial assistance to Americans, bring relief to small businesses and workers, stabilize the economy, and support our healthcare workers and patients. I am proud to have negotiated key provisions in this bill, and that Congress was able to come together and put the American people first.

We will continue to answer this public crisis with faith in ourselves, faith in our free enterprise system, faith in our amazing health care system, and faith in our ability to come together as one nation.
