THE WOODLANDS, TX - The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is proud to announce the awarding of over $156,000 in scholarship funds to local high seniors pursuing the fine arts in higher education.

Part of The Pavilion’s mission is to provide support to young artists as they pursue college degrees in the arts and this opportunity is awarded to students through The Pavilion Partners Fine Arts Scholarship Program. Each year, scholarships are awarded to high school seniors based on talent and academic performance within the following five disciplines: dance, instrumental music, musical theatre, theatre art, visual art and vocal music. Since beginning this program, over $1.3 million in fine arts scholarships has been awarded.

'We are pleased to continue our long-standing tradition of awarding annual scholarships to talented young students in and around our community,' said Jerry MacDonald, president and CEO of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. 'It's an honor for us to provide assistance to these outstanding artists as part of our mission and I commend them all on their accomplishments.”

This year, The Pavilion Partners were able to award 22 new scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $7,500. The scholarship recipients represent 12 high schools across seven school districts. Renewal scholarships were also awarded to 29 recent recipients of a Pavilion Partners Fine Arts Scholarship who are majoring in the Fine Arts and in a field of study consistent with the discipline in which they initially auditioned.
