The Pavilion Announces Pavilion Palooza, formerly known as Children's Festival
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is transforming into Pavilion Palooza, presented by Texas Children’s, a re-imagined family-friendly music and arts festival taking place Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, 2026. Formerly known as Children’s Festival, Pavilion Palooza invites families to explore music, dance, art and cultures from around the world through this year’s theme, “World Tour.”
For its inaugural year, Pavilion Palooza: World Tour transforms The Pavilion into a global adventure, with themed areas inspired by countries, cultures and regions from around the world. Families can travel the globe without leaving The Woodlands, discovering new music, dance, visual arts, crafts and cultural experiences along the way. With interactive activities and performances throughout the weekend, the festival offers something for kids of all ages while encouraging creativity, curiosity and a love of the arts.
The Main Stage serves as the heart of the festival, bringing families together for high-energy performances and unforgettable musical moments. Headlining the stage, The Rock and Roll Playhouse delivers interactive, kid-friendly shows that get the whole crowd dancing and singing along, while a rotating lineup of mini concerts introduces young fans to the music of iconic artists and bands, including Taylor Swift, Tom Petty, Bob Marley, The Beatles, and more. With familiar favorites and plenty of opportunities to groove, the Main Stage creates a lively festival experience where kids and parents can share their love of music together.
Throughout the festival, families can explore a variety of themed zones, each offering its own music, activities and creative experiences.
Inside The Pavilion’s Event Center, Roots & Rhythms celebrates the musical traditions that have shaped American culture. At the heart of the zone, the Front Porch Stage will feature toe tapping bluegrass and zydeco performances, inviting kids and parents to dance, sing and experience the rich musical traditions of America. Surrounding the stage, families can explore handmade crafts like paper-plate banjos and custom bandanas and sponsor activations that bring each brand to life through kid-friendly experiences. With its warm, rustic atmosphere and mix of music and discovery, Roots & Rhythms is a festival porch party built for the whole family.
Also located in the Event Center, Palooza Playland offers a dedicated space for the festival’s youngest visitors. Toddlers and little ones can enjoy an inflatable soft play area, bubble and music activities, a tiny instrument petting zoo and photo opportunities. Families can move and groove to the daily dance party before capturing a special memory with a “My First Festival” photo frame.
Located on the iconic Pavilion Lawn, Harmony Gardens brings a colorful and creative Asian inspired atmosphere to the festival with fabric ribbon kites, parachute racing, Texas Bubblers and an origami exchange. India-inspired lounge areas, add to the immersive experience and give families a refreshing location to recharge and enjoy the Main Stage performances.
Island Sounds brings a taste of the tropics to The Pavilion with island-inspired activities and plenty of opportunities for families to let loose. Kids can enjoy exciting rides and inflatables, make their own Hawaiian leis, explore island instruments, take on a hula hoop or limbo challenge and so much more! Island Sounds is a high-energy festival destination where families can play all day and soak up the fun, carefree spirit of the islands.
Rhythm Village explores the connections between music, creativity, science and culture. The African-inspired zone includes hands-on space activities with Janet’s Planet, music exploration at The Pavilion’s Instrument Petting Zoo (powered by Ovintiv), exciting science experiments with 1ST-Gen Scholars and “Creative Canvas” chalk creations. Families can also join an African drum circle or make their own bead bracelets at this vibrant and lively destination!
Plaza de la Música brings the energy of Latin America to Pavilion Palooza through mariachi performances, salsa lessons, carnival masks, maraca-making and fiesta-themed tattoos. Families can also enjoy community performances, activities from The Woodlands Children’s Museum and character meet-and-greet opportunities throughout the weekend.
The Melody Motorway zone, sponsored by Sewell, brings a playful European-inspired twist to the festival, creating an exciting destination where little explorers can get up close with the vehicles that keep the world moving. From honking horns to hands-on exploration, Melody Motorway puts kids in the driver’s seat for a memorable festival experience.
Together, these experiences create an immersive celebration of music and the arts, giving families opportunities to discover different cultures through live performances, hands-on activities and creative play.
