Alden Bridge Electric Transformer Explosion and Fire Quickly Put Out By The Woodlands Fire Department

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- At 4:15 this afternoon multiple people in the Village of Alden Bridge called 911 after hearing an explosion. The Woodlands Fire Department Truck 104 and Engine 102 responded to the intersection of Trillium and Research Forest and found that a ground-mounted electrical transformer had catastrophically failed and started a brush fire. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control and then did final extinguishment once Entergy verified that the area had been de-energized. Power remains out in the area.
