THE WOODLANDS, TX – Dosey Doe’s brand new whiskey bar houses more award-winning whiskeys and bourbons than any other whiskey bar in the state of Texas. These esteemed liquors come from all across the globe; South Africa, Japan.

“It’s definitely way more than a bar,” said Owner Steve Said. “It’s kind of a history lesson! Our menu gives a description of the different characteristics of all the award winners and what awards they’ve won,” he said.

Enjoy a locally crafted whiskey like the Balcones Texas Single Malt Whisky, made in Waco, which was awarded the Best American Single Malt Whiskey in 2015. Or, try the Macallan 18 year Single Malt Sherry Cask Scotch, which is possibly the most awarded single malt scotch of all time. Customers can even purchase flights catered to specific regions or types of whiskey. Balcones was actually so impressed by the bar, that they agreed to be a key sponsor.

There’s also the unique opportunity to build your own old fashion, infused with 10 different bitters to choose from, all made from scratch, and four smoke options. Whiskey connoisseur James Lamb, who works behind the bar, has the knowledge and craftsmanship to answer any questions, or create something special.

The overall ambiance is in line with the feel of Dosey Doe - The Big Barn. It has that same rustic Texas charm; complete with backlighting to make the bottles shine. “When you look at the bar it's almost as if you're looking at a bar from the 1800s,” said Steve. “It’s got a lot of Texas history.”

Located inside of the Dosey Doe Breakfast & BBQ restaurant, a full menu of southern staples are available to go along with drinks. The chef has created a wonderful array of bar appetizers including haystack-deep fried and well seasoned onion strings tossed with jalapenos and served with western aioli sauce for dipping, and southwestern fries, which are their house cut fries flowing with nacho cheese and topped with fresh made pico de gallo. Free appetizers will be passed around during opening week.

A full bar is also available, featuring perfectly crafted cocktails and martinis including the Vieux Carre, a 1930’s New Orleans style cocktail that is both strong and smooth made with cognac, bitters, and Benedictines, as well as a Reaper Madness Margarita made with the infamous Carolina reaper pepper.

“The bar is really fascinating even if you're not a whiskey person,” Steve said. “It’s not a place just to go drink, it’s a place to get educated and entertained.”

Attend the grand opening September 1, or stop by for a drink at 2626 Research Forest Dr B, The Woodlands, TX 77381. Check out their website for further information.
